Walking into her room, Sidney became disappointed. She actually enjoyed being out of the house. As if reading her mind, her phone rang.

“Hey, Raleigh. What’s up?”

Sidney had only spoken to Raleigh maybe twice since the end of December. She missed him, but she didn’t want to be around anyone, so she avoided him like she did everybody else.

“You good. So, what you getting into tonight?” Sidney thought he’d never ask.

“Nothing. I need to get out this house. What you got going on?” Sidney asked, hoping he had plans that included her.

“Me and them niggas is going to First Fridays at Beacham…wanna come?”

“Yeah,” she answered, hiding her excitement. The bar was calling her name. “What time y’all leaving?”

“We drinking and shit before heading out, so meet up at my house. You know you can come over as early as you want. I’ll be here.”

“A’right. I’ll head out in a little bit.”
